Mileva Stankovic (artistic name Misha Stankovic) was born in Pozarevac, on February 13, 1991. She completed elementary school in Kucevo, from where she left at the age of 15 to enroll in high school. She wanted to enroll in an art high school in Nis, but due to lack of finances, she enrolled in the Economics and Trade School in Pozarevac, majoring in Trade and tourism. She attended art-related extracurricular activities, but her works remained within the school grounds. She enrolled in the Academy of Criminalistic and Police Studies (now University of Criminal Investigation and Police Studies) in Belgrade in 2010, majoring in Professional Criminalist.
After completing her education, she realized she didn’t want to wear a uniform, so she explored alternative ways of earning. She discovered freelancing and began working online. A decade later, she works as a content writer and editor.
In December 2023, she created a painting as a gift for her neighbors, and rediscovered her love for art. During 2024, she strived to paint daily, explored styles, techniques, motifs, and media, settling on acrylic paints. That year she also sold several paintings. She realized that landscapes suited her best, but she still didn’t want to stay with just one motif so she explored still life and abstracts. She exhibited “Old Fishermen’s Houses” via Expo Metro in Miami and sent three works to the London Art Biennale.
She finds her greatest inspiration in nature. Her role models are Peder Mørk Mønsted, Fyodor Vasilyev, Claude Monet, Rene Magritte.
In the years to come, she wants to explore expressionism and impressionism in combination with luminism and tonalism. She strives to perfect the acrylic technique and find her signature style. Landscapes will remain her primary focus, and she will use abstractions to break creative blocks. She plans to actively engage in the global art industry.
